PHILADELPHIA-The Honorable Patricia Jenkins has been selected as a member of the Board of Overseers for the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
“I am delighted to welcome Judge Jenkins to our board,” said Dr. Joan C. Hendricks, the Gilbert S. Kahn Dean of Veterinary Medicine. “She and her family have long been ardent supporters of Penn Vet, and I welcome her contributions to our overseer board.” Overseer boards serve as bridges between Penn's schools and centers and the community beyond campus boundaries.
“I am honored by the invitation to serve on the Board of Overseers and by the opportunity to work with such distinguished colleagues, and with the school's administration, in the service of advancing veterinary medicine,” said Judge Jenkins. A resident of Edgmont, PA, she is a Common Pleas Judge at the Delaware County Courthouse, Media, PA. Judge Jenkins was first sworn into office on February 18, 1993, following appointment by Gov. Robert P. Casey, and has been elected for a second full 10-year term that will end in 2014. In addition, Judge Jenkins has taught at Widener and Villanova Universities. Judge Jenkins was married to former Pennsylvania House Speaker, the Honorable Matthew J. Ryan, for whom the School of Veterinary School’s companion animal hospital in Philadelphia is named.
She received a Juris Doctorate from Dickinson School of Law, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the Villanova Law School; her undergraduate degree is from Albright College. |
