Penn Vet Hosts Free Lecture, “Diabetes and Other Endocrine Disorders in Cats and Dogs”

Dr. Rebecka Hess slated to speak at Saturday, October 13 event

[October 2, 2012; Philadelphia, PA] – On Saturday, October 13 the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (Penn Vet) will host a free, open-to-the-public lecture called “Diabetes and Other Endocrine Disorders in Cats and Dogs” at Penn Vet in Philadelphia, PA.

Beginning at 10:00 AM, Dr. Rebecka Hess, chief and associate professor of medicine, will talk about the types of endocrine disorders, such as diabetes and hyperthyroidism, that can occur in cats and dogs. She will talk about the symptoms of these disorders so owners will know what to look for. Dr. Hess will also discuss how to manage these disorders and what treatment options are available.

Who: Penn Vet, dog and cat owners, interested members of the public.

What: Free lecture titled “Diabetes and Other Endocrine Disorders in Cats and Dogs,” featuring Dr. Rebecka Hess of Penn Vet’s Ryan Hospital.

Where: School of Veterinary Medicine, Hill Pavilion, located at 380 S. University Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

When: Lecture beginning at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 13, 2012 and ending at 11:30 AM.
