Keeping exotic birds as pets requires special knowledge, planning, and dedication, and campers left with a realistic understanding of the unique joys and challenges of sharing life with these intelligent and sensitive animals. A highlight of the day was when each camper got to choose a bird to hold, and all were sent home with a photograph of the moment.

<simplegallery:album>Animal Art Adventure Camp 2006</simplegallery:album>

Girl petting snake

Ms. Hollie Barattolo, of The Academy of Natural Sciences, taught campers about reptiles and the unique anatomical and physiological differences that set them apart from other animals.
