Clinical Microbiology Laboratory

The Ryan Veterinary Hospital Clinical Microbiology Laboratory (CML) performs routine diagnostic microbiology services primarily for Ryan patients. The lab performs all basic tests expected from a diagnostic lab (aerobic, anaerobic, fungal and mycobacterial culture; antibiotic susceptibility testing; and a variety of serologic tests). A range of specialist tests are sent out to reference laboratories, and the Ryan CML makes use of the facilities available at the Clinical Microbiology Lab at New Bolton Center, which is part of the Pennsylvania Animal Diagnostic Laboratory Service.
