Opportunities for Veterinary Students in Transfusion Medicine
Veterinary students from Penn and other institutions are offered a variety of opportunities to expand their knowledge and expertise in transfusion medicine and clinical hematology. Students may participate in the donor program and processing of blood products and are encouraged to pursue a project.
Independent Study - credits may be earned for research projects during the summer and during the academic year
Work Study Program - during the academic year, work study and other students may get involved in clinical and/or laboratory work by working part-time in the Penn Animal Blood Bank or the transfusion laboratory
Externship - students from other institutions are invited to spend a rotation with the Transfusion Medicine Program and the Penn Animal Blood Bank
