Internal Medicine Service

The Internal Medicine Service diagnoses and treats serious and chronic health problems in dogs and cats that are referred to specialists in endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, nutrition and urology—from both within and outside the Hospital. The internationally recognized Internal Medicine staff are skilled in endoscopic techniques and perform such tests as gastroscopy, esophagoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, rhinoscopy, cystoscopy and laparoscopy.
Faculty members of the Internal Medicine Service educate veterinary students and provide clinical training of interns and residents preparing for specialty practice or academic careers. Internal Medicine staff apply new diagnostic methods and treatments to existing and emerging diseases and are actively engaged in basic and clinical research that is pushing forward the boundaries of medical science.
