Description of Clinical Expertise

Dr. Callan is a veterinary internist with clinical and research interests in hematology and transfusion medicine. She is interested in evaluation of patients with bleeding disorders, particularly platelet defects and heritable factor VII deficiency. Dr. Callan has evaluated plateletpheresis as an option for producing a high quality canine platelet concentrate for transfusion and is working towards developing a therapeutic apheresis program at MJR-VHUP.
