Radiograph Submission

PennHIP will accept conventional radiographs or digital radiographic images. For instructions on submitting conventional radiographs, click here. For instructions on submitting digital radiographs, click here.
PennHIP will only evaluate radiographs submitted by a certified member or a "trainee" submitting his or her certification exercises.
Conventional Radiographs
Send conventional radiographs to the PennHIP Analysis Center at the following address:
PennHIP Analysis Center
20 Valley Stream Parkway
Suite 267
Malvern, PA 19355
USA
We strongly encourage you to send radiographs by some traceable means – e.g. certified mail, FedEx, UPS, or other reliable carrier.
Do not send digital radiographs to this address. Send digital radiographs to the address below.
Digital Radiographs
At this time, we are unable to accept digital images via the internet. You can, however, still submit digital radiographs to PennHIP for evaluation. To send us your digital images, use the following “low-tech” method.
All images must be in DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) format. DICOM image files have a “.dcm” file extension. We cannot accept any other format (no JPEG, GIF, TIFF, etc.). Save the hip-extended, compression and distraction views onto a CD, and mail it along with the Radiograph Evaluation Application, to the PennHIP Administrative Center (NOTE: Do not send to the Analysis Center).
It is important that you copy only the images to the CD. Many digital systems also copy a proprietary “viewer” onto the CD by default. Please do not include the viewer on the CD. Doing so can make it difficult to locate the images on the disk and will increase the time it takes to evaluate the images and issue a report. Contact the technical support department of the company you purchased the system from and ask them how to copy images without the viewer.
Send all CD’s to:
PennHIP Administrative Center
MJR-VHUP
Attn: Tom Gregor
3900 Delancey St.
Philadelphia, PA 19104-6010
USA
Continue to send conventional radiograph films to the PennHIP Analysis Center in Malvern. All CD’s sent to the Analysis Center will be rerouted to the Administrative Center. However, there will be a slight delay with the evaluation.
