Mr. Gable Oakley
Meet Mr. Gable Oakley, our superstar blood donor of the month. He is a 5 year old male Golden Retriever who has been in the program since 2004 and has donated an amazing 3 gallons of blood during his career.
When not donating, his favorite pastimes include long walkabouts on his Southern Chester County farm where he gets into all kinds of mischief; running along the pasture fence and rubbing noses with a one ton Holstein heifer named 731; and hanging out with his 2 feline housemates Kirby and Mason.
Things that get Mr. Gable’s tail wagging are: paw rubs, kongs, and rolling in the dirt.
Things that make Mr. Gable’s tail tuck are: long car rides, people who ignore him, and getting baths.
When asked why he likes to give blood, Mr. Gable’s response is: “Why not? I get lots of love and attention, and best of all, FOOD! I also get to help out my canine compadres. I think every dog should have their owner sign them up today.”
