Percutaneous tumor ablation techniques (radiofrequency ablation as well as microwave ablation, laser thermal ablation, cryoablation, and percutaneous ethanol injection) are being performed commonly in human medicine and have been described in veterinary patients.40-42 These procedures are typically performed under ultrasound or CT guidance and will likely play a growing role in local tumor therapies as advanced imaging techniques identify smaller lesions earlier in veterinary patients.
