Penn Vet has established the Josephine Deubler Genetic Disease Testing Laboratory. The laboratory is part of a service that encompasses a genetic testing and counseling program in Penn Vet's Section of Medical Genetics. This lab is dedicated to Dr. Josephine Deubler, V'38, the School's first female VMD and PhD graduate. Dr. Deubler passed away in 2009 at the age of 92. Until her death she was active in the world of dog showing/breeding and judging, penned a regular veterinary advice column, served on the school faculty until 1987 and was active in school affairs.
