Ongoing research activities of members of the Neurology Section include:
- genetic and morphologic studies of inherited deafness in the dog
- study of the efficacy of chemotherapeutics, bone marrow transplantation, stem cells and gene transfer on inherited neurodegenerative disorders
- development of magnetic resonance techniques to identify and monitor intracranial disorders
- development of stereotactic techniques for biopsying intracranial lesions
- studying the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of brain tumors in the dog
- Investigating novel therapies for the treatment of brain tumors in dogs
- Investigation of telomerase-based therapeutic strategies for the treatment of canine brain tumors
