Duncan Ferguson, VMD, PhD, (1982) DACVIM, DACVCP, Professor and Head, Department of Comparative Biosciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at Illinois.
Dr. Ferguson received a Fulbright Teaching/Research Fellowship to go on sabbatical to Hannover, Germany in Fall, 2013.
Stephanie J. Murphy, VMD, PhD, (1996) DACLAM, Associate Professor, Director, APOM Core Animal Laboratories and Training, Associate Director, OHSU Research Center for Gender Based Medicine, Oregon Health & Science University.
Dr. Murphy was awarded the American Society of Laboratory Animal Practitioners (ASLAP) Excellence in Research Award for 2013. She will be giving a lecture on her work at the 2013 AVMA meeting in July.

Kate and her husband added a baby girl to their family on Dec 22, 2012! Allison Olivia is their second child, with three year old big brother Nathan being the first.
John L. Robertson, VMD, PhD, (1977) Professor, Department of Basic Science, Virginia Tech School of Medicine and Research Institute.
Dr. Robertson retired on January 31, 2013 from VMRCVM and began work on February 1, 2013 (career#3!) as a Professor of Biomedical Engineeringin the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest School of Biomedical Engineering and Science.
Jessica Bertout, VMD, PhD, (2010) Postdoctoral Fellow, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
Dr. Bertout was awarded the 2013 Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research Gilman Family Scientific Scholar Award for a project entitled: “High-Resolution Detection of Somatic Ovarian Cancer Mutations in Bodily Fluids”. The award is for one year and $60,000.

Dr. Smith just published a new book chapter: Canine breast cancer and lymphoma as models in cancer research, Lutful Kabir, F, O’Neill, AM, Smith, BF, Bird, RC, in Animal Models of Cancer Research, SA Murray ed., March 2013, pp. 69-86.
In addition, he was awarded a two year $118,848 American Kennel Club-Canine Health Foundation grant on conditionally replicative adenovirus therapy for canine osteosarcoma.

Dr. Ralston has loads of new stuff!
First, she was promoted to Professor at Rutgers University!
Second she was awarded a 3 month Fulbright Scholars without Borders award for Spring 2014 to spend at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil to teach Equine nutrition and to carry out research.
