Procedures for Applying for Fall of 2008 - Changes for this application year

VMCAS will provide an electronic application by June 2, 2007 for entry in the fall of 2008. An application fee will be charged by VMCAS as usual while PENN will continue not to charge a fee. VMCAS will forward your application to the schools you designate at the application website, http://www.aavmc.org.

VMCAS will process and forward your letters of evaluation. Transcripts and GRE scores must be sent by the applicant directly to the schools to which you are applying. The VMCAS Application Evaluation form will be available on the web. It must be printed and signed and given to your evaluators to complete, and forwarded in a sealed and signed envelope with or without an attached letter. The Electronic Letters of Recommendation, eLOR, are also available to your recommenders. They are a convenient and simple option to the paper form.

The application deadline will be October 1 for receipt of your application and evaluations at VMCAS and for receipt of your transcripts by PENN. The last date to take the GRE for this admissions cycle is November 1, 2007. GRE scores should be forwarded to the Admissions Office by December 1, 2007.

Candidates can complete the electronic VMCAS (Veterinary Medical College Admission Service) application any time after June 2. The website is http://www.aavmc.org.

No applications will be accepted after October 1 by VMCAS for the class entering September of the following year. Those applicants who applied previously but who were not selected must apply again if they wish to be reconsidered. Applicants are notified of receipt of their application by letter no later than December 1st. At the same time you will be informed about missing documents.

The order in which applications are received is not the determining factor in the selection of students. Personal interviews with the Committee on Admissions are by invitation only. Applicants are notified of the committee's decision between January and April. Unsuccessful applicants may request a personal or telephone appointment for counseling.
