Dr. Althouse received his B.S. from Sul Ross State University, M.S. from Texas A&M University, and completed a combined program leading to both DVM and Ph.D. degrees at Iowa State University in 1994. His graduate work and current research focus on male reproduction, with a special interest in swine production medicine. From 1994-2001, Dr. Althouse was employed in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine at the University of Illinois as an Assistant Professor of Ambulatory/Production Medicine/Theriogenology. In 2001, Dr. Althouse joined the faculty as an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Studies - New Bolton Center, at the University of Pennsylvania. Shortly after arriving, Dr. Althouse assumed responsibilities as Head of the Section of Reproductive Studies and the Georgia & Philip Hofmann Research Center for Animal Reproduction. Dr. Althouse is a Diplomate in the American College of Theriogenologists. |
