The center was established in January 1994 as a result of an endowment from the estate of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Lowe, Baltimore, MD, in the name of the canine member of the family, Mari.  The Center is administered by the Director, Associate Director for Clinical Coordination and Associate Director for Research Development.  An advisory committee appointed by the Dean actively participates in the development of plans/programs and also advises on all of the Center's activities.   The advisory Committee consists of experts of international repute from both the Medical School and Veterinary School.
