School of Veterinary Medicine Online Student Bookstore

UPDATED 12/11/07:

The following is a listing of recommended textbooks for the School of Veterinary Medicine.

IMPORTANT:  Many of the texts below are used as additional resources only, and all are available on-reserve in the Library.  This is not an all-inclusive list - Course organizers will also provide students with further texts in class that can be used as resources.  Please check with individual course organizers regarding the necessity to purchase if you are unsure whether to purchase or not.

Purchase Information:

Fulfillment of all textbook orders placed through the On-Line Penn Vet Bookstore will now be made by Dolbey's Medical Bookstore located on the Penn campus.  If you previosly had an account with Majors (Medbooks Direct) our former provider up to June 19, 2007, you will need to set up a new account with Dolbey's.  This can be done at check-out.

You can now order on-line and either 1) have course textbooks shipped to you or 2) conveniently ready for in-store pick up, thus avoiding shipping charges.  As Penn Vet students, you will be offered a discount off the retail price of all recommended texts.   This discounted pricing is available only to Penn Vet students.

Things to know:

1.  Currently, all recommended Fall Semester Texts are listed.  This includes the dissection kit for Gross Anatomy VANB601.  Spring Semester Texts have been added.

2.  Find your Course Name or Number, Click on "view," and add the texts you wish to purchase to your cart.

3.  For recommended Reference books, see "Ref" and for recommended Clinical books, see "Clin."

4.  You can access the Penn Vet Bookstore either by clicking on the link above or by visiting Dolbey's directly and clicking on the link that reads "Penn Vet Bookstore."  Using the drop-down box, select University of Pennsylvania in Campus/Terms, select the Term, and click on Go.  You can also use the Search feature by simply typing the ISBN of a particular recommended text in the main Search Box.

5.  You may also order via phone (215-222-6020; 800-365-2397) or in-store - Dolbey's Medical Bookstore, 3734 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA.  Please make sure you identify yourself as a Penn Vet student.
