Shelter Medicine Veterinary Educators 2026 – University of Georgia

The Shelter Medicine Veterinary Educators (SMVE) Symposium serves as a complement to the Primary Care Veterinary Educators (PCVE) Symposium, run annually by the AAVMC. While many PCVE attendees work in the shelter medicine field, this forum provides a specific focus on topics central to shelter medicine and community medicine programs, including an emphasis on access to veterinary care. In its ninth year, the organization of the SMVE Symposium and its content annually is a collaboration between AAVMC, PCVE, and faculty at the Schools of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California, Davis, as well as faculty at the host institution.
