Penn Vet Names Shaun Rowe Executive Director of Ryan Hospital

The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (Penn Vet) has appointed Shaun Rowe, MPAS, MBA, as Executive Director of Ryan Hospital. Rowe joined Penn Vet on July 20^th, bringing more than a decade of healthcare leadership experience. As Executive Director, Rowe will oversee hospital operations and work closely with Chief Medical Officer and Professor of Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, Evelyn Galban, DVM, MS, DACVIM, and the Department of Clinical Sciences and Advanced Medicine, to further Ryan Hospital’s role as one of the nation’s leading academic veterinary medical centers.

Prior to joining Penn Vet, Rowe held several leadership positions at Cooper University Health Care, including Administrative Director of the Center for Advanced Practice and Administrative Director of the Cooper Bone and Joint Institute (CBJI). In these concurrent positions, he guided more than 700 advanced practice providers while overseeing the strategic, financial, and operational performance of a multidisciplinary musculoskeletal service spanning inpatient and outpatient care. Earlier, as Director of Clinical Operations for the CBJI, Rowe led initiatives to improve patient access, operational efficiency, and interdisciplinary care delivery. Throughout his tenure at Cooper, one of the Philadelphia region’s leading health systems, Rowe partnered with executives and physicians to support the institution’s long-term growth. Before moving into healthcare administration, Rowe practiced as a physician assistant in orthopedic trauma.

Rowe received his BS, MPAS (Master of Physician Assistant Studies), and MBA from the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky. He and his family live in New Jersey.
