The VCIC is now enrolling forty (40) dogs with a torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) for a clinical trial assessing the clinical outcome of dogs with varying degrees of knee joint arthritis due to the rupture of the CCL in one knee joint, which is stabilized with the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) surgical procedure.  Dogs enrolled will make seven (7) visits in one year to the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Hospital.

Inclusion Criteria:

• Dogs weighing 20 kgs (44 pounds) or more
• Confirmed diagnosis of a unilateral cranial cruciate ligament rupture
• No evidence of other concurrent orthopedic diseases
• Clinical signs of a CCL tear
• Ability to attend all study visits
