Our Farrier Service uses novel adhesive techniques and synthetic polymers for hoof reconstruction. Chief of Farrier Services Patrick “Pat” Reilly continues to explore new materials and techniques to advance hoof care, including the development of an in-shoe force measurement to quantify the effect of different shoes on the hoof. Pat joined New Bolton Center in 2006 as chief of farrier services and director of the Applied Polymer Research Laboratory. In 2020, he received his Graduate Diploma in Equine Locomotor Research at the Royal Veterinary College.
