
Elaine Holt, DVM, DACVO, DECVO
Elaine Holt obtained her DVM from the University of Illinois. She completed a small animal internship at the Animal Medical Center, NYC, and a residency in Comparative Ophthalmology at UC Davis; she is a diplomate of both the American and European colleges of ophthalmologists. Elaine has experience in private practice both in the US and UK, including small animal general/emergency practice, developing an ophthalmology service in a multi-disciplinary veterinary hospital, and working in ophthalmology only specialty practice. Dr. Holt is currently Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at Penn Vet where she runs the clinical service; she was also previously a clinician and educator at the Royal Veterinary College. Elaine is the current Chair of the American Board of Ophthalmologists Examination Committee and the Ophthalmology Residency Program director at Penn Vet. Before becoming a veterinarian, Elaine taught high school in the UK and Italy.
