Comparison of the efficacy & impact on suppressor cells of CHOP vs. LOPP chemotherapy in canine T-cell lymphoma

Oct 17, 2019

The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness and side effects of two standard-of-care chemotherapy protocols (CHOP vs. LOPP) to see if one is more beneficial for the treatment of T-cell Lymphoma in dogs. Dogs that are enrolled will be randomly assigned to receive either CHOP or LOPP.

Participating dogs will have an initial screening visit to assess overall health and confirm eligibility, including a free in-house flow cytometry screen to differentiate between T-cell and B-cell lymphoma.

Inclusion Criteria: Dogs with newly diagnosed T-cell lymphoma that have not started treatment for the disease.

The study will cover the costs of blood work, chest x-rays, and abdominal ultrasound at the screening visit, as well as an optional lymph node biopsy and bone marrow aspirate. The study does not cover the cost of the initial oncology visit nor chemotherapy and related procedures.

Owners will also receive $400 over the course of the study for their participation.
