    Dr. Waddell graduated from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and then completed an internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA. After her internship, she worked as an emergency clinician in private practice briefly before completing a residency in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care at Penn Vet. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and has worked at Penn Vet since her residency. Dr. Waddell is a Professor of Clinical Critical Care Medicine, and medical director of the Intensive Care Unit at Penn Vet. Her current areas of interest include fluid therapy, acid-base disturbances, and coagulation in critically ill patients.
