    What we do

Our neurology service evaluates, diagnoses, and treats large animal patients with a broad array of diseases that either primarily or secondarily affect the nervous system.

    Our Services

    Common Causes

If your animal is experiencing neck or back pain, issues with balance, muscle atrophy, weakness, tremors, difficulty swallowing, deafness or blindness, a neurological examination might help to identify and diagnose your animal’s potential disorder.

Some common causes of neurologic disease include:

    • Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis (EPM)
    • Cervical Vertebral Malformation/Cervical Vertebral Instability (CVM/CVI), also known as “Wobbler syndrome”
    • Neurologic Lyme disease (neuroborreliosis)
    • Trauma
    • Degenerative myeloencephalopathies
    • Equine Herpes Myeloencephalopathy (EHM)
    • West Nile Virus (WNV)
