Community and Engagement
Together, we see the full picture.
At the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, we aim to ensure the best and brightest from all communities are reflected in our student body. By focusing our outreach and engagement efforts, we are enhancing our community and extending veterinary education and training.

Our Commitment
We Endeavor to
Support a veterinary community that reflects the world we serve in every way and promote a collegial campus environment that is free from bias, discrimination, and harassment.
Appreciate all communities, both within our school and in the veterinary profession. It is fundamental to success in today’s world.
Seek to foster awareness, respect, and sensitivity to differences among individuals. True learning comes, in part, from learning together.
Provide students with opportunities and tools to address community-facing issues in the veterinary profession.
Student Engagement and Community
Throughout the academic year, our students collaborate with their peers and engage with groups across campus.

Faculty
The Office for Faculty is a resource for Penn Vet’s faculty on career progression and community. The Office supports faculty recruitment, retention, and advancement through oversight of faculty searches and appointments, mentoring towards reappointment and promotion, programming to enhance growth and community, and guidance in work-life balance and wellness to ensure success.
The mission of the Office for Faculty is to foster a welcoming, respectful, and collaborative environment that will support faculty to maximize their contributions to the educational, research, clinical and service missions of Penn Vet.

Alumni
The Office of Alumni Relations supports Penn Vet’s Alumni Board, a group of alumni volunteers whose service and leadership foster alumni engagement and advancement of Penn Vet’s mission. Alumni board committees and alumni groups advocate for alumni interests in shaping community support systems that facilitate new learning experiences among alumni and students across veterinary medicine.
