New Penn Vet Lecture Series Brings Companion Animal Expertise to New Bolton Center Community

Join us for the Animal Lovers Lecture Series![September 24, 2018; KENNETT SQUARE, PA] – Starting this October, the expertise of Penn Vet’s Ryan Hospital comes to New Bolton Center in a new series that connects the surrounding pet-loving community with the latest breakthroughs and techniques for small and companion animals.

Aptly named the Animal Lovers Lecture Series, attendees will have the unique opportunity to learn from some of Penn Vet’s highly-specialized clinicians.

Wednesday, October 24, 2018 | Dr. Deborah C. Mandell presents "Pet First Aid and CPR" 

Join Penn Vet’s Dr. Deborah Mandell as she offers her top life-saving tips on managing a small animal emergency, including important how-to’s on pet first-aid and administering CPR. As a member of the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council, Mandell’s emergency preparedness expertise helps owners determine whether or not their pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, and what care they can provide until they are able to get their pet to a veterinarian.

Wednesday, March 20, 2019 | Dr. Jennifer Mahoney and Penn Vet's Comprehensive Oncology Team present "Comprehensive Cancer Care at Penn Vet: It Takes a Village"

In this panel discussion lecture, Dr. Jennifer Mahoney will lead conversation around Penn Vet’s comprehensive approach to providing the highest quality cancer care. The power of Penn Vet’s collaborative culture boasts bench-to-bedside breakthroughs in the areas of Research, Immunology, and Clinical Care. Lecture attendees will learn about Penn Vet’s advanced, integrated care from a cross-section of Penn Vet’s cancer experts in Imaging, Surgical, Radiation, and Medical Oncology.

Wednesday, June 12, 2019 | Dr. Carlo Siracusa presents "Understanding Your Pet's Emotions to Enhance Quality of Life"

Penn Vet’s leading small animal behaviorist, Dr. Carlo Siracusa, will help audience members understand what their animals are thinking and feeling. The dually-boarded Director of Behavior Medicine is an expert in helping pets and their owners overcome behavior issues around anxiety and aggression, and is the academic director of Penn Vet’s CALM (Companion Animal Low-Stress Management) Program designed to mitigate stress and enhance a pet’s veterinary experience.

Based in Philadelphia, Ryan Hospital is the small-animal hospital of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Between the two campuses, Penn Vet is home to more than 100 boarded clinicians in over 15 large-and-small animal clinical specialties.

The Animal Lovers Lecture series will be held from 6:30-7:30 pm on the designated Wednesdays at New Bolton Center’s Alumni Hall, 382 W Street Rd, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Free on-site parking is available.
