On Monday, May 20, 2024, Amanda Bisol, VMD, delivered the commencement address. A general practice veterinarian from rural Maine, Bisol is a staunch leader within the veterinary community. As a 2011 Penn Vet graduate, Bisol embarked on a journey marked by a commitment to the well-being of animals and the advancement of the veterinary profession. Over the course of a decade, she practiced veterinary medicine at the Animal Medical Clinic in Skowhegan, Maine, where she served as part-owner for six years. In 2019, driven by a desire to become a more formidable advocate for fellow veterinarians and the profession, Bisol entered the University of Maine’s School of Law to pursue her Juris Doctor degree. Amidst her legal studies, she continues to serve her community as a part-time practitioner at the Animal Medical Clinic, maintaining a balance between clinical practice and continued education.
