    Mary Jane Drake, VMD, PhD, DABVP

    Mary Jane (MJ) Drake, VMD, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Food Animal Field Service at the University of Pennsylvania New Bolton Center. She earned a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 for her thesis research investigating viral entry mechanisms of emerging zoonotic viruses. In 2020 she earned her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. Following graduation she completed an internship with Tufts Veterinary Field Service, worked in private practice, and returned to the University of Pennsylvania for a residency in Food Animal Field Service. In 2024 she earned board certification with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. Dr. Drake’s clinical focus is on dairy cattle production medicine and small ruminant care.
