    Thomas Lee, DVM, DACVR

Dr. Ber-In “Thomas” Lee earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from National Taiwan University (NTU). His childhood experience with acute leukemia and its eventual cure after intense chemotherapy inspired his pursuit of Veterinary Oncology. After a rotating internship, he started a medical oncology residency and a master’s degree at NTU. His growing involvement in radiation therapy (RT) fueled his desire to become a radiation oncologist. Dr. Lee then completed a radiation oncology residency at the Flint Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University (CSU), where he earned a second master’s degree. He became a board-certified radiation oncologist and began a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology specializing in Cancer Biology at CSU. He is currently wrapping up his PhD, and his research focuses on immune-RT interactions and the application of emerging RT technologies.

Currently, Dr. Lee is an Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology at Penn Vet. He has creatively implemented advanced techniques, including rigid immobilization and 3D-printed boluses, to enhance patient care. He is strengthening collaborations with Penn Medicine, particularly in FLASH-RT canine clinical trials. Outside of work, Dr. Lee enjoys cooking, music, and movies. He has a deep love for Golden Retrievers and shared 13 years with his beloved dog, Spinach, who bravely fought pancreatic cancer.
