Zhengxia Dou, PhD

Dr. Dou’s research has evolved from nutrient management in primary production to nutrient stewardship across the entire agrifood system. Building on years of research in soil, crop, and livestock nutrient cycling, her current work extends to post-harvest food processing, consumption, waste stream recovery and re-use. This broader framework aims to identify new opportunities for improving nutrient efficiency, reducing environmental impacts, and enhancing food system resilience and sustainability.
