Thank you for your interest in the NIH/Boehringer Ingelheim Summer Research Fellowships. Please read the following instructions carefully.
University of Pennsylvania Applicants
Please submit the following:
- Completed application package (online)
- Transcripts, official or unofficial, from each institution you’ve attended, including Penn Vet (pdf files no larger than 2MB)
- Copy of GRE scores (unofficial)
- Download and complete Faculty Sponsor Recommendation/Commitment Form (PDF)
- Proposal (pdf file)
- NOTE: All supplemental items should be in pdf file. Please bundle all the items together if possible and make it as few files as possible not to exceed 3MB. Also make sure your name is on the proposal and the faculty sponsor form. It should be in the following order 1. Proposal 2. Faculty Sponsor Form 3. UPENN Vet Transcript 4. Other transcripts 5. GRE Scores.
Outside Applicants
Please submit the following:

- Official transcripts from each institution you’ve attended, including current veterinary school transcripts (pdf file, no jpeg)
- Copy of GRE scores (photocopies acceptable)
- Download and complete Faculty Sponsor Recommendation/Commitment Form (PDF)
- Proposal (pdf file)
- NOTE: All supplemental items should be in pdf file. Please bundle all the items together if possible and make it as few files as possible not to exceed 3MB.
