Alumni Awards

Each year, Penn Vet takes the opportunity to applaud and recognize outstanding members of the community. The Alumni Award of Merit and the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award honor dedicated and caring veterinary professionals who have consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment to Penn Vet and whose contributions to the Alumni Relations program exemplify their support for the alumni, students and the School.

Nominations

Nominations may be submitted at any time. The nomination process involves the full Penn Vet community, which includes alumni, administrators, faculty and students. Submissions are reviewed and candidates who are deemed most deserving of recognition, and whose achievements most closely fit the category for which they have been nominated, are selected. Recipients are celebrated during Alumni Weekend.

Alumni Award of Merit

The Penn Vet Alumni Award of Merit recognizes alumni who have demonstrated:

Outstanding leadership and service to the School of Veterinary Medicine
Excellence in the veterinary profession
Community involvement

Professional achievements, community service, and other such accomplishments will be considered as secondary to service to the School.

Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award

The Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to the veterinary profession. Service to the profession may be in their veterinary work, research, or in a volunteer capacity doing veterinary work in their community.
