    Working Dog Practitioner Program

    This RACE-approved program for Veterinary professionals provides working dog instruction through a blend of online courses and hands-on learning. Instructors include specialty certified practicing veterinarians with real life experience and subject matter experts in the working dog field.

    Penn Vet Working Dog Conference

    We’ve been bringing working dog professionals, veterinarians and researchers together since 2010 for the shared goal of advancing working dog knowledge. In 2025 we partnered with other like-minded organizations to present the first Joint Symposium for Working K9s.

    Our Train the Trainer Program partners with Law Enforcement agencies to support the development of their next generation of K9 trainers. 

    Intern Extern

    Internships, Externships, & Fellowships

    Opportunities for college and gap year students wishing to expand their working dog training and research experience. We also offer opportunties for veterinary students looking to complete their externship in working dog medicine and sports medicine.

    Community Classes & Scent Detection

    We offer a variety of classes open to the public for puppies and adult dogs, including obedience, agility and scent detection. We partner with Capable Canine to manage the registration and promotion of these classes.

    Canine Handler Academy

    This summer program offers opportunities for incoming 7th, 8th and 9th graders as well as counselor opportunities for high school students. The goal is to create a unique and fun experience that will educate and inspire the next generation of veterinarians, working dog handlers, and canine enthusiasts.
