    What we do

Penn Vet offers diagnostic laboratory services to referring veterinarians for their patients. Our sections encompass anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and cytology, microbiology, and parasitology.

Precise diagnosis is imperative in determining successful treatment protocols and providing the highest-level of animal care, whether you are an animal owner, caretaker, or a referring veterinarian. For that reason, Penn Vet’s cross-disciplinary team of specialized, board- certified faculty, clinicians, residents, technicians, and knowledgeable administrative staff are here to assist with all of your diagnostic testing needs. We provide consultations, inter-laboratory collaboration, and a cooperative approach to maximize your diagnostic capabilities.

The Autopsy Service provides complete gross and histopathologic examinations on patients by referral from veterinarians. Refer to the referral autopsy submission guidelines. Veterinarians can perform postmortem exams, and tissues can be submitted via the Biopsy Service.
