Description
Title: "Making 'sense' of how malaria parasites avoid their host's immune response"
Speaker:

Recent Research Direction: The current work on the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum involves several projects that are focused on understanding various aspects of gene regulation and how parasites avoid the immune system of their host through antigenic variation. In addition to our established work on transcription, we are also interested in genome plasticity, particularly in how parasites generate diversity within the multi-copy gene families utilized for antigenic variation.
