The role of chronic inflammation on behavior and cognition of aging cats

Aug 29, 2022
The VCIC, working with the Behavior service, is currently recruiting healthy cats, aged 7 or greater, to explore the connection between age-related, subclinical, behavioral, and physical processes, and the potential effect on the welfare and quality of life of senior cats. Enrolled patients will make one (1) visit to VHUP as well as one (1) telemedicine visit, conducted virtually up to 3 weeks later.

Inclusion criteria:

  • Cats aged seven (7) or more
  • No evidence of concurrent diseases
  • Ability to participate in telemedicine visits to complete behavior tasks
  • Owner willing to participate in all study tasks and fill out questionnaires

Benefits:

  • Financial coverage for physical examination and all bloodwork

If you are interested in enrolling your cat into this study, please contact the VCIC at 215-573-7751 or vcic@vet.upenn.edu
